Proof of Identity

Whether, investing your money, taking out a mortgage or simply arranging an insurance policy, in today’s regulated marketplace you will be required to proof your identity.

You must typically provide one proof of identity and one proof of address from the list below. Should you wish to make a joint application then bills in joint names may be considered as one proof of address for each of the named individuals on that bill.

Where you may have recently married and have not made the appropriate changes to your documentation you will also be required to include your marriage certificate.

In order to advise you properly, we must obtain certain information from you about your financial and personal circumstances, to assess your suitability for particular products and services.

By providing us with your personal data:

1. You agree that the information we hold about you can be held on computer and/or paper files. We may send personal information supplied by you in confidence for processing to other companies within the Sesame Limited Network (or companies acting on our instructions) including those located outside the European Economic Area.

2. You agree that any information which you give us, including sensitive personal data such as health and medical records, may be disclosed to third parties (e.g. credit reference agencies and medical practitioners, where relevant) for the purpose of processing your application and for the ongoing administration of your investment or policy but for no other purpose.

3. You agree that we may use the information that we hold about you to contact you from time to time by post, fax, e-mail or telephone to bring to your attention additional products or services, which may be of benefit to you.

4. We agree that any consent given by you under paragraph 3 above may be withdrawn by you at any time by contacting us in writing at:

As whole of market advisers, we are specialists in our field and from receiving an enquiry from you, we will always aim to assist with meeting your needs and objectives. We will also discuss how we would be paid for our services should we be instructed to proceed. There is no charge for this preliminary conversation and no obligation on either side.

After the initial free consultation, we will agree with you whether you pay us a fee, or whether we are paid out of the cost of any financial product you buy (commission). We will always tell you about any commission we earn, and it will be taken into account in working out our fee.

Insurance Services

Key Facts about our Insurance Services

Dealing with Watts means that for your Life Insurance, Critical Illness, Income Protection or Health Insurance requirements we can research the whole of marketplace to find the right product for you.

For your Home Insurance we have a range of insurers on offer, and for Mortgage Payments Protection we can offer this through Royal Sun Alliance via Sesame Insure.

We take the renumeration for our services by commission payable from the insurers and this means that we do not charge you anything for arranging and advising on your insurance.

This is just another way we want to treat our customers fairly.

Commission is paid to an advising firm by the provider, (ie the lender or the insurance company), for the successful placing of business. The amount of commission is typically based on a percentage of the premiums payable or loans agreed.

For Investment advice, fees will usually be based on time spent and evaluated at a rate per hour calculated to recover our costs. Fees attract an additional VAT charge whereas commissions, under current legislation, do not. We will always tell you about any commission we earn, and it will be taken into account in working out our fee.

You choose how we get paid:

A fee of 1% of the mortgage amount (minimum of £695) for advice and recommendation and for our mortgage administration. This is payable £695 on application and the balance (if any) payable on completion.  We will refund any commission we receive from the lender.  (Typical Example – on a mortgage of £120,000 this would be £1,200).

£495.00 for our mortgage advice and recommendation and our mortgage administration. This is payable £95 on application and the balance payable on completion. If you cancel the application after it has been submitted to the lender, an administration fee of £155 is also payable.  We will retain any commission paid by the lender.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
